Coconut & Vitamin E Eye Cream

To keep with my new found love of homemade skin care I decided to try a homemade eye cream. Since I’m not using store bought chemicals for my face care, I really wanted something to help keeps my eyes smooth and hopefully ward off wrinkles for a little while longer! I’ve just started using this product and so far so good. It’s smooth, not greasy if used in it’s solid form and in small quantities. Plus it has a light coconut scent which I love! I think I may try to add some tea tree oil in the future to help with under-eye puffiness and see how that works~I’ll keep you posted when I make that addition.

Homemade EyecreamYou will need:

  • A small jar with lid (I use a 1.4 oz plastic craft jar)
  • Organic coconut oil (can be found at the supermarket or health food stores)
  • Vitamin E capsules

Method:

  • Fill jar 3/4 with coconut oil (can be warmed in microwave or on stove if it is too solid at room temperature)
  • Squirt oil from 3 vitamin E capsules into the coconut oil and blend well with spoon.
  • Set in fridge to return to solid form

To Use:

  • Pat small amount of solid eye-cream on skin around eyes, gently massage into skin

*Note: If the coconut scent is too strong, you can purchase low odor/unscented coconut oil instead of the regular coconut oil
